Driving sustainability at Rybrook Automotive with major multi-site solar and EV charging project

EnergyForce is delivering a significant £1.4m multi-site solar and EV charging project for national motor dealer Rybrook Automotive Ltd.

The East Yorkshire-based company is installing almost 4,000 solar PV panels and 71 EV charging stations across 17 sites across the Midlands and North West of England.

This is providing 141 EV charging sockets across BMW, MINI, and Jaguar Land Rover sites, with Rybrook Automotive becoming the first EnergyForce customer to have its new 300KW/400KW rapid chargers installed at its dealerships.

Once complete, the project will help generate 1.39MW, and help the company offset approximately 302 tonnes of CO2 per year. EnergyForce has also secured a levelized cost of energy at 7p per KWh.

Rybrook Automotive is one of the largest privately owned car dealer groups in the UK, with showrooms across the North West, South West and the Midlands. It represents major specialist and luxury marques including Bentley, BMW, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Lotus, Maserati, McLaren, MINI, Pininfarina, Porsche, Rolls-Royce and Volvo.

The project is part of a programme by Rybrook Automotive to enhance the sustainability of its operations alongside increasing the provision of in-showroom EV chargers as it increases its activity in the electric car market.

EnergyForce has worked closely with Rybrook Automotive to develop the best solution for the individual dealerships.

With its extensive experience in the renewable technology sector, EnergyForce provides a comprehensive service to its customers. In addition to its own range of EV chargers and Solar PV systems, it offers project design and installation, the securing of grid connections, managing remote metering services, as well as ongoing operations and maintenance services.

The contract represents EnergyForce’s growing presence in the automotive retail sector. It has installed more than 1000 electric vehicle charge points at car dealerships and manages, on average, 122 MWh of EV charging per month.

In total, this year, the company has delivered 759MWh to charge EVs within the UK car dealership network, which is a 100 percent increase on the previous 12 months.

Chris Kirkwood, Chairman of EnergyForce, said: “We are very proud to be supporting Rybrook Automotive with its sustainability ambitions alongside expanding its EV charging capabilities across its dealership network.

“We are working exceptionally close with its dealership network to complete the installations, which both generate clean energy to power the sites and an increasing number of EV cars they are selling and servicing, which need to be charged before customer collection.”

Chris Page, Property Director, Rybrook Automotive “EnergyForce worked closely with our Head Office and Centre Teams to meet our business needs for our multi-site solar and EV charging project. The solutions were specifically tailored to the various different site locations and business needs. The EnergyForce installations team completed the project professionally and in good time. We are looking forward to the future benefits that this project will deliver for our businesses and we follow our long-term business strategy to increase our sustainability.”
